In the beautiful Kericho area of western Kenya a picture perfect lime green carpet of tea covers in excess of 20 000 hectares. Since Goldsuite and Nutrian visited Kericho in October last year and were asked for a bespoke tea fertiliser, a product prototype was developed and is now being trialled on two estates. The initial results were presented in September 2017 during a visit to the estates and the results to date are very encouraging. Yield on the trials has increased versus the control, cup quality is not effected and leaf analyses shows uptake of the nutrients has been rapid and effective. The trial will be finalised in early November 2017.
