  3. Goldsuite and Khal Amazi, a partnership built in the Greenhouse.

Just outside of Lusaka in the Chalimbana Valley, near Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, lies one of Zambia’s horticultural powerhouses. Khal Amazi, the biggest Zambian exporter of cut flowers, produces a super-sweetheart rose which is a mainstay of European supermarkets flower offerings.

With customers in developed countries becoming more quality conscious and aware of the effect of acidifying chemical fertilisers on soil productivity, Goldsuite provide Khal Amazi with an alternative, high quality liquid range of suspension concentrates that are natural. Not only are they natural, but as the products are now in the Nano range they are taken up very quickly by the plant, either through the root system or through the leaves.

Currently Khal Amazi use EzyFlow Gypsum, EzyFlow Calbud and EzyFlow Trace.

Khal Amazi grow a full colour range in 64ha of greenhouses across three sites. The roses are harvested daily, and then immediately graded and bunched to fulfil supermarket orders. All flowers are exported by air to the European supermarkets within 3 days of being harvested, using both cargo and passenger planes.
