A large rose grower in Kericho Kenya conducted a trial to ascertain EzyFlow Calbud’s efficacy on the quality and quantity of rose stems produced. A secondary trial was conducted together with pesticides to find out if EzyFlow Calbud enhanced a rose’s resistance against Botrytis Cinerea. In the trial EzyFlow Calbud was trialled against the market leader in Kenya and against a control.

The trial took place on Tropical Amazon, a rose variety especially susceptible to Botrytis Cinerea.

The dose of both EzyFlow Calbud and the market leader was 2ml per litre of water. The roses were treated every two weeks for a period of one flush. The following parameters were measured:

  • Yield of marketable stems
  • Stem length
  • Number of petals affected by Botrytis Cinerea

The trial was an observational trial over the period of one flush (5 weeks)

The results show that at 2ml / Litre of water, EzyFlow Calbud improved the quality and quality of marketable stems of Tropical Amazon. In addition its efficacy against Botrytis Cinerea was as good as the competitive product used until the trial.
